Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Patient Care Assistant/Nurse Aide for the Med Surg unit at Good Shepherd Hospital in Barrington, IL. You will support the RN with daily patient care, including bathing, feeding, ambulation, and basic monitoring.

Shifts run day hours from 6:30 am to 7:00 pm with rotating weekends and holidays. Part-time, 24 hours weekly, requiring a GED/HSED or high school diploma and BLS within 45 days.

Qualifications

• Basic computer skills.
• BLS certification within 45 days.
• Nurse Aide in good standing as indicated with the State Registry.

Responsibilities

• Assist RN with daily patient care: bathing, feeding, ambulation, and positioning.
• Document vitals and patient data in EMR accurately.
• Perform rounding and communicate observations to RN.
• Assist with admissions, transfers and discharges under RN supervision.
• Collect specimens and aid in clinical procedures as directed.
• Stock nursing areas and assist with equipment cleaning and maintenance.
• Support patient nutrition and skin care needs; manage patient belongings.
