Job summary

Advocate Health in Barrington, IL is seeking a part-time Nursing Assistant to support patient care during the night shift (6:30 pm–7:00 am) with rotating weekends and holidays.

The role requires a GED/HSED or high school diploma and current BLS certification within 45 days, plus Nurse Aide in good standing. You will assist with daily activities, document vitals and care, and support RN in admissions, transfers, discharges, and routine tasks while maintaining safety and infection prevention.

Qualifications

• GED/HSED or high school diploma required.
• BLS certification within 45 days of hire.
• Nurse Aide in good standing with the state registry.

Responsibilities

• Assist RN with daily patient care: bathing, feeding, mobility, and positioning.
• Record vitals, I&O, weights, and other data; document in EMR.
• Perform rounds and communicate observations to RN promptly.
• Assist with admissions, transfers, discharges, and room setup.
• Collect specimens and perform point-of-care testing as directed.
• Order stock, transport items, and maintain cleanliness of nursing area.
• Support patient nutrition, skin care, and use of assistive devices.
• Follow infection prevention and safety procedures at all times.
