Job summary

NYU Langone Hospital-Brooklyn is seeking a Nursing Attendant for Med Surg Float Night Shift to assist with direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. You will help create a safe, orderly environment and support the nursing team in delivering high-quality care.

Responsibilities include admissions, rounds, hygiene, meals, vital signs, and safety checks, with focus on compassionate patient interaction and efficient unit operations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Graduate of Certified Nursing Attendant program or minimum 6 months relevant experience.
• BLS or Heartsaver CPR/AED certification required upon entry to the position.
• Working knowledge of English; other language an asset.

Responsibilities

• Assists with Admission/Transfer/Discharge of patients and orients to hospital environment.
• Conducts patient rounds for toileting, positioning, comfort, safety and personal needs.
• Assembles oxygen and suction setup.
• Provides basic hygiene and feeding assistance to patients.
• Takes and records vital signs and reports abnormalities to the RN.
• Assists with moving, lifting, positioning and transporting patients.
• Maintains safety and cleanliness of patient areas and supplies.
