Job summary

NYU Langone Hospital—Long Island is seeking a Nursing Attendant for the Float Pool, part-time during evening shifts. You will assist in direct and indirect patient care, under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, contributing to a safe and orderly environment.

Responsibilities include admissions/ transfers, patient rounds, hygiene, meal assistance, and basic treatments. Requires CNA program or 6 months experience, and CPR/BLS certification; strong communication in English is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Graduate of Certified Nursing Attendant program or 6 months relevant experience.
• BLS or Heartsaver CPR/AED certification required on entry.

Responsibilities

• Assist with admission/transfer/discharge and orient patients.
• Perform rounds for toileting, comfort, safety and needs; respond to calls.
• Assemble oxygen and suction setups for patient care.
• Provide basic hygiene and daily living activities to patients.
• Prepare patients for meals and assist with feeding as needed.
• Support nursing staff with simple treatments and IV/monitoring tasks.
• Record vital signs and intake/output; report abnormalities to RN.
• Maintain clean, safe, and organized patient environment.

Education

High School Diploma or equivalent

Graduate of Certified Nursing Attendant program

6 months relevant experience

BLS or Heartsaver CPR/AED certification
