Job summary

NYU Langone Hospital—Suffolk is seeking a Nurse Aide for the Med Surg Float, Full Time (Days). The role involves basic nursing tasks under RN supervision to ensure patient safety and comfort, and to maintain a clean, orderly patient environment.

Responsibilities include assisting with ADLs, responding to call lights, documenting intake, vital signs, and assisting with diagnostic procedures as needed. Must adhere to Falls Prevention and participate in ongoing staff education.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• BLS certification (AHA only) and first aid training.
• De‑escalation training provided on the job.
• Ability to read and write at an elementary school level to understand the patient’s plan of care.

Responsibilities

• Patient care delivery and basic nursing tasks.
• Responds to patient calls and assists nursing staff.
• Observe patients and report changes in condition.
• Assist with activities of daily living (nourishment, ambulation, hygiene, toileting).
