NYU Langone Hospital-Suffolk invites applications for a Nurse Aide - Med Surg Float, Full Time, Nights. The role supports registered nurses, provides basic nursing care, and helps ensure patient safety and comfort on the Med-Surg unit.

The successful candidate will assist with room preparation, routine nursing tasks, and participate in staff orientation. Strong communication and customer service skills are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• BLS certification (AHA) and first aid training required.
• De-escalation training provided on the job.
• Ability to read and write at an elementary level to document care plans.
• Ability to perform simple arithmetic for weight and vitals.
• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Must be able to multitask and work under supervision.

Responsabilités

• Deliver basic nursing care and assist with activities of daily living.
• Respond promptly to patient call lights and relay to nursing staff.
• Observe patients and report changes to the nurse promptly.
• Assist with vital signs, measurements, and specimen collection as needed.
• Prepare equipment and rooms for diagnostic procedures.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized patient environment.
• Collaborate with management to improve the environment of care.
