Job summary

NYU Langone Hospital—Brooklyn is seeking a Nursing Attendant for the Med Surg Float Night Shift. The incumbent will assist in implementing the nursing process under supervision of a Registered Nurse, maintaining a safe patient care environment and collaborating with health care staff.

Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, CNA program completion or 6 months relevant experience, and BLS/CPR certification.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Graduate of Certified Nursing Attendant program or at least 6 months of relevant experience.
• BLS/Heartsaver CPR/AED certification required upon entry.

Responsibilities

• Assist with Admission/Transfer/Discharge of patients and orient them to the hospital environment.
• Perform patient rounds for comfort, safety and personal needs; respond to call lights.
• Take and record vital signs (BP, pulse, temp) and document appropriately.
• Provide basic hygiene care and assistance with meals and daily activities.

Education

High School Diploma or equivalent

Graduate of Certified Nursing Attendant program

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
