Job summary

Electrical Automation Services is hiring a Production Line Mechanic/Technician in Geneva, IL. The role focuses on diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical issues on high-speed packaging lines and processing equipment, while performing scheduled maintenance and supporting continuous improvement efforts.

Candidates should have at least two years of related experience or a technical degree, with the ability to work hot environments, crawl under lines, and lift up to 50 pounds.

Qualifications

• Two years of production line mechanic/technician experience or equivalent technical education.
• Packaging and steel aerosol can or aluminum can making equipment experience is a plus.
• Understanding of automation principles and controls logic is a plus.
• Proficiency operating maintenance shop equipment is a plus.
• Must be able to stand for long periods, work in hot conditions, crawl under lines and climb ladders.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
• Occasional weekend work and flexible schedule required.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical problems on high-speed production line equipment (mechanical drives, hydraulic/pneumatic systems, conveyors).
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical problems on packaging/processing equipment (wiring, circuits, fuses, switches, motors, drives).
• Complete routine preventative maintenance safely, cost effectively, and on time.
• Support food safety, quality, and continuous improvement activities.
• Coordinate with internal resources to resolve issues and improve equipment.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area, free from debris and clutter.
