Job summary

Electrical Automation Services is seeking a Production Line Mechanic/Technician for its Elgin, IL facility. The role covers diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical issues on high-speed production lines and packaging equipment, along with preventive maintenance and safety responsibilities.

The candidate will join a team on the 7pm-7am overnight shifts, with alternating weekends and overtime after 40 hours.

Qualifications

• Two years of Production Line Mechanic or Technician experience preferred, or equivalent technical degree/education.
• Experience with packaging and steel or aluminum can equipment is a plus.
• Understanding of automation principles and controls logic is a plus.
• Ability to use maintenance shop equipment is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical problems on high-speed production line equipment and conveyors.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical problems on packaging/processing equipment (wiring, circuits, fuses, switches, motors, drives).
• Complete routine preventative maintenance safely, cost effectively, and on time.
• Support food safety, quality, and continuous improvement activities.
• Lead in consulting with internal resources to resolve issues and improve equipment.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area; ensure debris-free workspace and storage areas.
