Job summary

Electrical Automation Services is seeking a Production Line Mechanic/Technician for night shifts in Illinois. You will diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues on high-speed packaging lines and support preventative maintenance.

The role requires at least two years of relevant experience or an equivalent technical degree, with preference for packaging can/coil equipment familiarity. Candidates must be able to work nights, weekends as needed, and lift up to 50 pounds.

Qualifications

• Two years of Production Line Mechanic/Technician experience preferred or an equivalent technical degree/education.
• Packaging and steel aerosol can or aluminum can equipment experience is a plus.
• Understanding of automation principles and controls logic is a plus.
• Ability to use maintenance shop equipment is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical problems on high-speed production line equipment (drive systems, conveyors, hydraulics and pneumatics).
• Troubleshoot electrical problems on packaging/processing equipment (wiring, circuits, fuses, switches, motors, drives) with Electrical staff.
• Complete routine preventative maintenance safely, cost effectively and on time.
• Support food safety, quality and continuous improvement activities.
• Request design/fabrication of replacement parts or equipment as needed.
• Lead to consult with internal resources to resolve issues and improve equipment.
• Maintain a clean, orderly work area and keep spaces free of debris.
