Job summary

Electrical Automation Services in Illinois is seeking a Production Line Mechanic/Technician for overnight shifts to maintain high-speed packaging lines. You will troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic and electrical issues, perform preventative maintenance, and work safely in a hot production area.

The role requires about two years of related experience or an equivalent technical degree; packaging equipment experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Two years experience as Production Line Mechanic or Technician, or equivalent technical education.
• Packaging equipment or can making exposure is a plus.
• Ability to work in hot conditions, stand for long periods, and perform physically demanding tasks.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical problems on high-speed production line equipment (mechanical drive systems, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, conveyors).
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical problems on packaging/processing equipment (wiring, circuits, fuses, switches, motors and drives).
• Complete routine preventative maintenance tasks safely, cost effectively and on time.
• Support food safety, quality and continuous improvement activities.
• Request the design/fabrication of replacement parts or equipment as needed.
• Lead with internal resources to resolve issues and improve equipment.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area free from debris and clutter.
