Job summary

Electrical Automation Services in Illinois is seeking a Production Line Mechanic/Technician to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain high-speed packaging equipment. You will work with mechanical, electrical, and automation systems on a 7pm–7am shift, with weekend requirements and overtime after 40 hours.

The role requires 2 years of relevant experience or an equivalent technical degree, plus the ability to lift up to 50 lbs, crawl under lines, and climb ladders.

Qualifications

• Two years of production line mechanic/technician experience preferred or equivalent technical degree.
• Packaging and steel or aluminum can equipment experience is a plus.
• Understanding of automation principles and controls logic is a plus.
• Ability to use maintenance shop equipment is a plus.
• Stand for long periods, crawl under lines, and climb ladders; lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical problems with high-speed production line equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical problems with packaging/processing equipment.
• Complete routine preventative maintenance tasks safely, cost effectively and on time.
• Support food safety, quality and continuous improvement activities.
• Request purchase/design of replacement parts or equipment as needed.
• Lead to consult with internal resources to resolve issues and improve equipment.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area free from debris and clutter.
