Job summary

Peet’s Coffee in Minnesota is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform equipment upkeep across roasting, green blending, packaging, and distribution. You will troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems, ensuring safe, efficient operation and high uptime.

Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, project support, new equipment installs, and collaboration with engineering and operations teams.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of related experience in the technician field.
• Minnesota Electrical Unlicensed Individual certification or higher.
• Basic electrical circuits knowledge.
• Welding and fabricating experience.
• Experience troubleshooting mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Able to navigate SCADA systems (e.g., Scolari).
• Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to work independently.
• Self-motivated and reliable with minimal supervision.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Support manufacturing operations by understanding the functionality and operation of all machinery.
• Monitor equipment and processes to ensure safety, efficiency, and product quality.
• Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on roasting and packaging equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and basic electrical issues on production equipment.
• Maintain equipment in safe, efficient operating condition, aiming for high uptime.
• Complete scheduled maintenance tasks and assigned work orders.
• Assist with continuous improvement initiatives and special projects.
• Aid the Engineering Technician in new equipment installations and modifications.
• Respond to unplanned downtime to minimize production disruptions.
• Communicate effectively with the Engineering Supervisor, Operations leadership, and Production team.
• Adhere to Peet’s Coffee policies and procedures fairly.
• Participate in safety committee meetings and support plant safety initiatives.
• Comply with GMPs, SSOPs, and Adverse Health Policy.
• Operate forklifts, boom lifts, and scissor lifts safely.
• Read and interpret basic electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics.
• Follow lockout/tagout procedures and safety protocols.
• Maintain sanitation standards and assist in equipment cleaning.
• Be flexible for shift changes, overtime, and weekend coverage.
