Job summary

Peet’s Coffee is seeking a Maintenance Tech to join our plant operations team. Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, you will maintain and repair roasting plant equipment and facilities to keep production running smoothly on the 1st shift (4:00am–12:30pm).

You’ll perform preventive maintenance, diagnose line issues, read electrical diagrams, and use CMMS systems while upholding safety and quality standards. Experience with data entry and tools is valued.

Qualifications

• Must be mechanically inclined.
• Ability to work with computers for data entry and to access machine manuals.
• Experience with a CMMS (computer maintenance management system) or strong understanding of such systems.
• Strong problem-solving skills: define problems, collect data, establish facts, make recommendations, draw conclusions and communicate effectively.
• Ability to safely lift and maneuver up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
• Must possess a valid California driver’s license and a clean driving record.
• Ability to take direction and a willingness to learn new skills.
• Must be able to work a variety of shifts, including weekends or evenings, and occasional overtime.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance on all plant equipment according to the maintenance schedule.
• Diagnose and repair filling and assembly lines as needed.
• Interpret and utilize system error messages on related equipment.
• Understand roasting equipment operation, including operation of HMIs.
• Work on bag slitters and pallet lifter.
• Perform diagnosis and repairs on hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Read and interpret electrical diagrams as per equipment repairs and diagnosis.
• Use and understand multimeters.
• Repair facilities‑related items, doors, dock levelers, lights, ballasts, sinks, drains, and perform general grounds maintenance.
• Assist with roasting equipment maintenance, requiring ladder work and use of basic hand and power tools.
• Assist in line changeovers and setups.
