Job summary

Penske Logistics in Coppell, TX is seeking an Operations Supervisor to lead hourly staff, oversee driver deliveries, loading/unloading, cross docking, and customer service, ensuring tasks meet cost objectives.

You will supervise scheduling, review daily orders, manage attendance, training, and compliance with safety, financial, and regulatory policies while supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years related functional experience.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Bachelor's Degree preferred.
• Strong written/oral communication and organizational skills required.
• Advanced computer skills including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint required.
• Regular, predictable, full attendance is essential.
• Willingness to travel, complete Penske application, background check and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Communicate performance standards, interview hourly associates, monitor attendance and productivity and provide counseling or recognition as needed.
• Supervise logistics operations including customer service, freight loading/unloading, dispatch and documentation; evaluate methods to improve dispatch/warehouse productivity; assist in training; ensure compliance with site systems and accurate records.
• Ensure compliance with financial policies and control inventory, manage overtime and productivity targets.
• Align daily operations with the safety strategy; provide training and direction to ensure safe performance and regulatory compliance.
• Understand location-specific customer goals and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
• Plan work assignments to optimize fleet/warehouse equipment and ensure safe operations by hourly staff.
• Other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor.
