Job summary

HEI Hotels and Resorts in Greenwich, CT is seeking an Overnight Engineer to perform preventative maintenance, minor repairs, and routine upkeep of hotel facilities. The role involves inspecting HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and carpentry systems, servicing the pool, and refurbishing guest room furniture.

Candidates should have vocational training or experience in building trades, with hotel experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Vocational schooling, military training, certification and/or experience in building related trades in HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, or Carpentry.
• Hotel experience is preferred.
• Must be able to climb, stand, walk, and frequently lift 25–50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Assist with preventative maintenance and complete work orders (replacing ceiling tiles, light bulbs, patching vinyl, etc.).
• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance (e.g., room care) and inspect electrical, HVAC, lighting systems, and related equipment.
• Assist in minor repairs and replacements of hotel equipment including boilers, appliances, pools, and plumbing systems.
• Service hotel facilities (pool chemicals, filters) and maintain building exterior and curb appeal (snow removal, lawn care, painting).
• Refurbish furniture and fixtures in guest rooms and move furnishings as needed.
• Respond courteously to guest questions and requests to ensure guest satisfaction.
