Job summary

McLane is seeking a Mechanic II to perform comprehensive trailer refrigeration repairs and diesel engine work. You will conduct preventive maintenance, handle complex mechanical and electrical repairs, and work with minimal supervision across shop tasks.

The role requires 2 years of diesel repair experience, ASE PMI certification or plan to obtain it within 1 year, and a valid CDL. Benefits begin after 60 days and include health, dental, vision, and 401(k) options.

Qualifications

• 2 years diesel repair experience on tractor-trailer and refrigeration maintenance.
• Valid Class C driver license; Class A preferred.
• Within 1 year obtain ASE PMI certification (T8).
• Possess basic hand tools (up to 1/2" drive).
• Certifications: Maxx Force 13 engines, Transportation Refrigeration, Brake Systems, 609, 608, HD electrical diagnostics; Cummins/Detroit preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform shop duties for trailer refrigeration repairs and maintenance.
• Diagnose and repair diesel engines and perform alignments and wheel/tire work.
• Read service bulletins, maintain tools and complete paperwork.
• Work independently or in a team; participate in on-call rotation.
