Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. is seeking a technology manager to lead a Data Center Operations team responsible for global cloud infrastructure. You will mentor staff, sponsor projects, and propose technical solutions while aligning with AWS Infrastructure Services goals.

Qualifications

4+ years of Information Technology (IT) experience, or Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics or equivalent.
2+ years of people management experience.
2+ years of operations and on-call support for data center facilities, mission critical plants, or production facilities experience.

Responsibilities

Prioritize and assign trouble tickets to data center technicians and operators.
Manage the performance of diverse teams of data center operation professionals across locations.
Develop career paths for employees and update internal tools.
Recruit and train data technicians to ensure staffing levels.
Ensure day-to-day data center operations management including queue and 7/24 shift arrangements.
Inspire improvement in team processes, technology innovation and automation.
Manage large-scale events (outages) and act as call leader.
Maintain on-call schedules and coordinate vacations.
Ensure KPIs and metrics are tracked and met.
