Job summary

Electrical Automation Services in Glendale, AZ is seeking a seasoned Controls Engineer for the night shift. You will act as the on-site controls expert, supporting automated bottling and packaging lines, troubleshooting PLC/HMI networks, and leading controls projects to improve safety, quality, and throughput.

This role requires an associate degree in engineering technology or related field, 4+ years in industrial automation, and willingness to work the 2-2-3 night schedule from 6 PM to 6 AM.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in engineering technology or related field.
• At least four years of industrial automation or controls experience in high-speed manufacturing.
• Strong PLC troubleshooting and programming capabilities.
• Experience with HMIs, VFDs, servo systems, instrumentation, and networks.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and control drawings.
• Willingness to work a 2-2-3 night shift (6:00 PM–6:00 AM).

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary on-shift controls and automation expert.
• Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 troubleshooting for production equipment.
• Diagnose PLC, HMI, VFD, servo, instrumentation, and network issues.
• Develop and execute controls projects to improve safety, quality, reliability, and throughput.
• Mentor maintenance technicians and operators.
• Maintain documentation and backups of programs and drawings.
• Support equipment commissioning and system integration.
