Job summary

Electrical Automation Services is seeking an experienced Controls Engineer for our Glendale, AZ facility. You will serve as the on-shift controls expert, troubleshooting PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, and networking issues across automated production lines.

You will mentor maintenance technicians and operators, lead control projects to improve safety and throughput, and collaborate with operations, maintenance, engineering, and quality teams on continuous-improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Four+ years of industrial automation or controls experience in high-speed manufacturing.
• Strong PLC troubleshooting and programming capabilities.
• Experience with HMIs, VFDs, servo systems, and industrial networks.
• Ability to read electrical schematics, control drawings, and technical documentation.
• Willingness to work a 2-2-3 night schedule (6:00 PM–6:00 AM).

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary on-shift controls and automation expert.
• Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 troubleshooting for production equipment.
• Diagnose PLC, HMI, VFD, servo, and network issues and resolve safely.
• Develop and implement permanent corrective actions for recurring issues.
• Lead controls upgrades, commissioning, and system integration projects.
