Job summary

Electrical Automation Services is seeking a skilled Controls Engineer for on-site support at our Glendale, AZ facility on a 2-2-3 night schedule (6:00 PM–6:00 AM). Base salary ranges from $100,000 to $130,000 with a 20% target annual bonus and relocation assistance available.

You will lead troubleshooting, mentoring, and automation projects across packaging and processing lines, collaborating with operations, maintenance, and engineering to improve safety, quality, and throughput.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in engineering technology or related discipline.
• Four+ years of industrial automation experience in high-speed manufacturing.
• Strong PLC troubleshooting and programming capabilities.
• Experience with HMIs, VFDs, servo systems, networks, and electrical control systems.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and control drawings.
• Excellent communication across plant departments.
• Willingness to work a 2-2-3 night shift (6:00 PM–6:00 AM).

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary on-shift controls and automation expert.
• Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 troubleshooting for automated production equipment.
• Diagnose PLC, HMI, VFD, servo, instrumentation, motion-control, and networks issues.
• Troubleshoot equipment failures and restore production safely and efficiently.
• Develop controls projects to improve safety, quality, reliability, and throughput.
• Support high-speed beverage processing, filling, and packaging systems.
• Participate in Management of Change for controls and process modifications.
• Mentor maintenance technicians and operators.
• Maintain PLC/HMI backups, drawings, and change records.
• Assist with commissioning, upgrades, and system integration projects.
