Job summary
Energy Jobline ZR is seeking a Controls Engineer for the Glendale, AZ facility on a 2-2-3 night shift (6:00 PM–6:00 AM). The role provides Tier 1 and 2 troubleshooting, supports automation projects, and acts as on-shift controls expert across production lines, packaging, and conveyors.
Responsibilities include mentoring maintenance technicians, maintaining PLC/HMI backups, coordinating with operations, implementing improvements to safety, quality, and throughput, and participating in change
Qualifications
- Associate degree in engineering technology, information systems, or related field.
- At least four years in industrial automation or controls in high-speed manufacturing.
- Strong PLC troubleshooting and programming capabilities.
- Experience with HMIs, VFDs, servo systems, and industrial networks.
- Ability to read electrical schematics and control drawings.
- Willingness to work a 2-2-3 night schedule (6:00 PM–6:00 AM).
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary on-shift controls and automation expert.
- Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 troubleshooting for automated production lines.
- Diagnose PLC, HMI, VFD, servo, and network issues.
- Develop and execute controls projects to improve safety, quality, and throughput.
- Mentor and train maintenance technicians and operators.
- Maintain PLC/HMI backups and change records.
- Support equipment commissioning and system integration projects.
