Job summary

100Hires, Inc. is seeking an experienced Controls Engineer for the Glendale, AZ facility to provide automation and controls support on a 2-2-3 night schedule (6:00 PM–6:00 AM).

The role focuses on diagnosing PLC/HMI, VFD, servo, and network issues and leading controls improvements. You will mentor maintenance technicians, collaborate with operations, maintenance, engineering, and quality teams, and drive projects that increase safety, quality and throughput.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in engineering technology, information systems, industrial automation and controls, or a related technical discipline.
• 4+ years of industrial automation or controls experience in high-speed manufacturing.
• Strong PLC troubleshooting and programming capabilities.
• Experience with PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, servo systems, instrumentation, networks, and electrical control systems.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and control drawings.
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Willingness to work a 2-2-3 night schedule (6:00 PM–6:00 AM).
• Experience with on-shift controls support and project execution.

Responsibilities

• Serve as on-shift controls and automation expert.
• Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 troubleshooting for production equipment.
• Diagnose PLC, HMI, VFD, servo, instrumentation, and network issues.
• Develop actionable permanent corrective actions for recurring problems.
• Lead controls projects to improve safety, quality, reliability, and throughput.
• Support beverage processing, filling, canning, conveying, and packaging systems.
• Mentor maintenance technicians and equipment operators.
