Job summary

Torrey Holistics in Glendale, AZ is seeking an experienced Automation & Controls Engineer to support a large, highly automated beverage manufacturing facility. This night-shift role focuses on hands-on troubleshooting of Allen-Bradley PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, instrumentation, and electrical control systems to maximize uptime and reliability.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Allen-Bradley PLC experience.
• Proficient in PLC programming and troubleshooting.
• Experience with HMIs, VFDs, instrumentation, sensors and control systems.
• Strong electrical troubleshooting skills in fast-paced environments.
• Experience supporting automated manufacturing or process equipment.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on automation and controls support for production and process equipment.
• Troubleshoot Allen-Bradley PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, instrumentation, sensors, and electrical control systems.
• Diagnose equipment failures using PLC logic, I/O, electrical schematics, and system data.
• Perform PLC programming, troubleshooting, modifications, and controls optimization.
• Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 troubleshooting support during downtime.
• Support high-speed automated equipment including fillers, conveyors, packaging, robotics.
• Identify recurring issues and implement long-term corrective actions.
• Support automation upgrades, installations, commissioning, and CI projects.
• Work with maintenance, engineering, operations and OEM vendors.
• Provide technical guidance to maintenance technicians.
• Participate in management-of-change processes and maintain controls documentation.
• Support plant-wide automation systems as needed.
