Job summary

Advocate Health in Barrington, IL is seeking a part-time Nursing Assistant to support RNs during night shifts (6:30 pm–7:00 am) with patient care, hygiene, feeding, and mobility, including rotating weekends and holidays. The role requires BLS and state nurse aide registration.

You will document vital signs in EMR, participate in admissions and discharges, collect specimens, maintain supplies, and uphold infection control standards.

Qualifications

• Must have basic computer skills and EMR documentation ability.
• Strong communication and organizational skills are required.
• Annual education requirements for hospital certifications must be kept current.
• Certification Addendum as part of ongoing requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assists RN with daily patient care and mobility tasks.
• Measures and documents vitals, intake/output, and fluids per protocol.
• Performs rounds and communicates observations to RN promptly.
• Assists with admission, transfer and discharge processes under RN supervision.
• Collects specimens and performs point-of-care testing as indicated.
• Maintains stock and cleans equipment and work areas.
• Ensures patient call light is within reach and responds promptly.
• Maintains infection control procedures and PPE usage.
