Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Nursing Assistant for the Med Surg team at Aurora West Allis Medical Center in Wisconsin. This full-time role covers a 12-hour night shift (1900–0730) with rotating holidays and every other weekend.

Responsibilities include helping with daily patient care, documenting in EMR, and assisting with admissions, transfers, and discharges under RN supervision. BLS and Nurse Aide registration are required, with a GED/high school diploma.

Qualifications

• Basic computer skills for EMR and documentation.
• Excellent oral and written communication abilities.
• Great organizational skills and priority setting.
• Certification Addendum and ongoing certification maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Assist RN with daily patient care: bathing, feeding, ambulation.
• Record vital signs, intake/output, and weights in EMR.
• Perform rounding and communicate observations to RN.
• Assist in admissions, transfers, and discharge processes.
• Collect specimens and perform point-of-care testing as directed.
• Maintain supplies, clean equipment, and support patient needs.
• Ensure patient safety, call light accessibility, and proper transfers.
