Job summary

A nursing assistant position at Aurora West Allis Medical Center—Med Surg offers 36 hours per week on a third 12-hour shift (7:00 pm–7:30 am) with rotating holidays. You will support RNs with daily patient care, document vital signs and patient data in EMR, and assist with admissions, discharges, and patient transfers.

The role requires Basic Life Support, Nurse Aide registration in good standing, and a GED or equivalent. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Must have basic computer skills for EMR entry and documentation.
• Excellent oral and written communication for patient and team interactions.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to set priorities in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily patient care including bathing, feeding, mobility, and activity orders.
• Document vital signs, intake/output, daily weights, and other data in EMR.
• Perform rounding and communicate patient needs to RN; participate in admissions/discharges as directed.
• Maintain patient safety: call lights within reach, transfer patients using proper technique, and ensure equipment readiness.
