Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a skilled Chiller Mechanic to join our team at a new electric vehicle battery plant. The role requires chiller experience, the ability to read schematics, and a strong focus on safety and quality maintenance.

Responsibilities include installing and servicing chillers, performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting issues, and maintaining detailed records. Evening hours Tue–Fri 10 PM–8 AM, with competitive benefits offered by Johnson Controls.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of chiller experience and knowledge of maintenance procedures.
• High school diploma or equivalent is required; a Mechanical Journeyman’s License is preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret manuals, blueprints and schematics.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Install, repair, and maintain chillers (centrifugal, screw, absorption).
• Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance for efficiency.
• Diagnose issues, identify root causes, and follow engineering specs.
• Repair or replace defective parts using tools and rigging equipment.
• Keep accurate maintenance records: parts, labor, and work performed.
• Collaborate with team and contractors to meet project deadlines.
• Follow all safety protocols and company policies.
