Job summary

UAB Medicine operates a 23-bed cardiology stepdown unit, caring for patients post-structural procedures with continuous telemetry. The role is for nights, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM on weekends, at UAB St. Vincent’s East, serving as a key nurse coordinating care plans and multi-disciplinary teams.

Licensed RNs with BLS/ACLS and Alabama licensure, a nursing diploma, and strong ECG interpretation skills are encouraged to apply to join this mission-driven team in Alabama.

Qualifications

• BLS within 1 month of hire; American Heart Association or Red Cross accepted.
• Licensed Associate Professional Registered Nurse credentialed with Alabama Board of Nursing prior to hire.
• Diploma from an accredited nursing program and active licensure at hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care according to policies and protocols.
• Implement and monitor care plans, document patient condition, and communicate updates.
• Act as primary coordinator of disciplines for well-coordinated care.
• Carry out physician and nursing orders and assist with discharge planning.
