Job summary

UAB Medicine is seeking a dedicated registered nurse to join 7 North Cardiology Stepdown and Intermediate Care Unit. The unit cares for patients recovering from structural cardiac procedures and high-risk cardiac conditions, requiring close telemetry, medication management, and skilled nursing interventions. Schedule is 7:00 PM–7:00 AM, Saturdays and Sundays, at UAB St.

Vincent's East. Candidates must hold a nursing diploma, current Alabama licensure as a Registered Nurse, and BLS certification

Qualifications

• BLS Provider required within 1 month of hire date.
• Licensed Associate Professional Registered Nurse credentialed by the Alabama Board of Nursing prior to hire date.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care in accordance with policies and protocols.
• Implement and monitor patient care plans; monitor and communicate patient condition.
• Serve as primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated care.
• Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
• Assess and coordinate discharge planning needs with the healthcare team.
