Job summary

UAB Medicine invites applications for a 7 North Cardiology Stepdown and Intermediate Care Unit registered nurse. The role supports patients post-structural cardiac procedures and high-risk cardiac diagnoses with telemetry, medication management, and skilled nursing interventions. Shift is 7:00 PM–7:00 AM on weekends, located at UAB St.

Vincent’s East. Applicants must hold an Alabama RN license, a nursing diploma, and BLS.

Qualifications

• BLS certification required within 1 month of hire date.
• Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed with Alabama Board of Nursing prior to hire date.
• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care according to policies, procedures and protocols.
• Implement and monitor care plans; record and communicate patient condition.
• Coordinate care as primary liaison for disciplines to ensure well-coordinated care.
• Interpret orders and coordinate discharge planning with the healthcare team.
