Job summary

UAB Medicine is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join the 7 North Cardiology Stepdown and Intermediate Care Unit, a 23-bed unit caring for patients after structural cardiac procedures and high-risk cardiac conditions with telemetry and close monitoring. Shift is 7:00 PM–7:00 AM, Saturday and Sunday nights, with a pattern rotation.

BCLS/ACLS-certified staff, Alabama RN licensure, and a Diploma in Nursing are required.

Qualifications

• BLS or ACLS certification required within 30 days of hire; staff must be ACLS-certified.
• Licensed Associate Professional Registered Nurse credentialed from the Alabama Board of Nursing is required before hire.
• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing and professional licensure at time of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care in accordance with policies and protocols.
• Implement and monitor patient care plans and communicate patient condition.
• Act as primary coordinator of care among disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
• Record and carry out physician and nursing orders.
• Coordinate discharge planning needs with the healthcare team.
