Job summary

UAB Medicine is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse for the 7 North Cardiology Stepdown and Intermediate Care Unit. The role covers 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM shifts on Saturdays and Sundays, at UAB St. Vincents East.

You will provide direct patient care, monitor telemetry, and coordinate multidisciplinary plans for high-risk cardiac patients. Eligible positions offer generous benefits and opportunities for professional growth.

Qualifications

• BLS certification within 1 month of hire date.
• ACLS certification required or within orientation period.
• ECG interpretation skills are desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care according to unit policies and protocols.
• Implement and monitor patient care plans and document status.
• Coordinate care as primary point of contact among disciplines.
• Carry out physician and nursing orders.
• Assess discharge planning needs with the healthcare team.
