Job summary

Lincoln Property Company is seeking a Building Engineer I for the Birmingham, AL area to maintain HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems during a night shift. You will perform scheduled maintenance, respond to tenant requests, and ensure safe operation under experienced engineers’ guidance.

This role emphasizes hands-on troubleshooting and on-call support. The position requires 2–3 years of related experience or a commensurate trade certification, local licensing as applicable, and US work

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of related experience or commensurate certification.
• Engineering and trade licenses required per local, state, or national requirements.
• CFC Certification preferred.
• Develop familiarity with HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems; BAS operation experience.
• Basic skills with Microsoft Office Outlook and work order systems.
• Ability to stand, walk, climb ladders, and lift up to 50 pounds; physically demanding tasks.
• Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled maintenance, repairs, and inspections of building systems.
• Address service requests, including hot/cold calls, plumbing issues, and lighting repairs.
• Troubleshoot minor equipment malfunctions and elevate issues as needed.
• Replace light fixtures, filters, and other components as required.
• Maintain accurate records of inspections and equipment performance.
• Conduct property inspections to identify deficiencies; assist with preventive maintenance and contractor oversight.
• Follow safety protocols, OSHA/NEC/NFPA requirements; report hazards and participate in safety audits.
• Participate in on‑call rotations and respond to emergencies; support recovery during severe weather.
• Interact with tenants, contractors, and property managers; work with senior engineers.
• Develop technical skills through mentorship and professional development.
