Job summary

Lincoln Property Company is seeking a Building Engineer I to maintain and troubleshoot HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems across our properties. You will perform routine maintenance, respond to tenant requests, and support senior engineers in safety and compliance tasks.

The role emphasizes on-site work, steady record-keeping, and collaboration with contractors and property managers to ensure reliable operations.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of job-related experience or commensurate certification/trade experience.
• Engineering and trade licenses required per local, state, or national requirements.
• CFC Certification preferred.
• Developing familiarity with HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems; gaining experience with BAS operation and troubleshooting.
• Basic skills with Microsoft Office Outlook and laptop/phone applications for work order systems, email, and training platforms.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled maintenance, repairs, and inspections of building systems.
• Address service requests, including hot/cold calls, plumbing issues, and lighting repairs.
• Troubleshoot minor equipment malfunctions and elevate issues as required.
• Replace light fixtures, filters, and other components as necessary.
• Maintain accurate records of inspections and equipment performance.
• Conduct property inspections to identify deficiencies; assist with preventive maintenance tasks and contractor oversight.
• Follow company safety protocols and use PPE for all tasks; ensure compliance with OSHA, NEC, NFC, and NFPA regulations; report hazards immediately and participate in safety audits.
• Interact with tenants, contractors, and property managers; work closely with senior engineers and technicians.
