Job summary

The Valley Hospital in Paramus, NJ is hiring for a patient care technician role. You will provide direct and indirect patient care, perform EKGs, phlebotomy, vitals, wound care, and assist with crutch fitting and splints under supervision.

Applicants should have a high school diploma, CPR certification, and either recent hospital experience or an active credential from AAMA/NCCT/AMT/NHA/AMCA/NAHP/NCMA, or be a nursing student with BLS within 90 days of hire.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and CPR certification.
• Valid active certification from AAMA, NCCT, AMT, NHA, AMCA, NAHP, or NCMA, or nursing student with BLS within 90 days of hire.
• Recent hospital experience or credentialing in a related role is preferred.
• Ability to operate a computer and basic software applications.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct and indirect patient care including EKGs, finger sticks, phlebotomy, wound care, and vital signs.
• Assist with orthopedic splints, post-suture and superficial dressings, and crutch fitting.
• Support materials management and equipment maintenance as directed by staff.
• Adhere to approved policies and procedures and assist in patient care for neonatal to geriatric patients.
