Job summary

The Valley Hospital in Paramus, NJ is seeking a patient care technician to support physicians and nurses, perform EKGs, finger sticks, phlebotomy, vital signs, wound care, and crutch fitting.

The role requires a high school diploma and eligibility for relevant certifications or enrollment in nursing studies; prior hospital experience preferred. This is a night shift position with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Must meet one of the following: (1) recent hospital experience or (2) active certification from an approved credentialing organization (AAMA, NCCT, AMT, NHA, AMCA, NAHP, NCMA) for CNA, CMA, Patient Care Technician, NJ Home Health Aide or EMT, or (3) nursing student who has completed Fundamentals of Nursing, or (4) complete 8-week PCA Fundamentals Program.

Responsibilities

• Support physicians and nurses in direct and indirect patient care.
• Perform EKGs, finger stick glucose, phlebotomy, wound care, and vital signs.
• Assist with crutch fitting and materials management according to policies.
