Job summary

The Valley Hospital in Paramus is seeking a patient care technician to provide technical support to physicians and nurses and participate in direct and indirect patient care. You will perform EKGs, finger-stick glucose, phlebotomy, wound care, obtain and record vital signs, and assist with materials management and maintenance.

You may apply orthopedic splints, post-suture dressings, and assist patients with crutch fitting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and CPR current.
• Option: certification from AAMA/NCCT/AMT/NHA/AMCA/NCMA/NAHP/NCMA or NJ EMT.
• Current nursing student with Fundamentals of Nursing completed and BLS within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support to physicians and nurses and assist in direct/indirect patient care.
• Perform EKGs, finger-stick glucose, phlebotomy, wound care, vital signs, materials management and equipment upkeep.
• Apply orthopedic splints and post-suture dressings; assist with crutch fitting.
