Job summary
Electrical Automation Services is seeking a seasoned Controls Engineer for its Glendale/Scottsdale area to support high-speed beverage manufacturing. You will lead on-shift controls, troubleshoot PLC/HMI, diagnose equipment issues, and mentor maintenance teams.
The role requires at least four years in industrial automation, an associate degree, and strong PLC/HMI skills. The position offers a 2-2-3 night schedule, on-site work in Scottsdale, a base salary of 100k–130k, and a 20% target bonus
Qualifications
- Associate degree in engineering technology or related field; equivalent experience considered.
- 4+ years in industrial automation/controls in high-speed manufacturing.
- Strong PLC troubleshooting and programming skills.
- Experience with HMIs, VFDs, servo systems, and electrical control systems.
- Ability to read electrical schematics and control drawings.
- Excellent multi-department communication skills.
- Willingness to work a 2-2-3 night shift from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM.
Responsibilities
- Serve as on-shift controls and automation expert for production lines.
- Provide Tier 1 and 2 troubleshooting for automated equipment.
- Diagnose PLC, HMI, VFD, servo, and network issues.
- Develop and implement controls projects to improve safety and throughput.
- Mentor maintenance technicians and operators.
- Maintain documentation and backups; support system upgrades and commissioning.
- Collaborate with operations, maintenance, engineering, and quality teams.
