Job summary

Frederick Health is seeking a part-time Registered Nurse for the Family Center on-site in Frederick, MD. Night shift is 1900–0730; 48 hours bi-weekly with holiday rotation, weekends and on-call requirements.

The Family Center unit focuses on newborn assessment, couplet care and antepartum services. The RN provides care using the nursing process, demonstrates leadership, conducts patient education and supports QA activities.

Qualifications

• Eligible for or currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in Maryland or compact state.
• Associates degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred or willingness to obtain within 5 years.
• BLS certification is required; NRP and C-EFM certifications required on hire or within specified timelines.

Responsibilities

• Assesses biophysical, psychosocial, environmental, self-care, educational and discharge planning per nursing standards.
• Identifies patient needs, prioritizes treatment, documents changes in patient condition.
• Performs initial and ongoing assessments and documents per policy.
• Implements individualized care plans using nursing diagnosis and involves family and other disciplines.
• Organizes and prioritizes care, collaborates with team to meet patient needs.
• Demonstrates leadership and participates in standards of care and quality initiatives.
• Provides patient/family education and discharge planning integration.
