Job summary

Frederick Health Family Center is seeking a registered nurse for a part-time night shift (48 hours bi-weekly) from 1900 to 0730. Holiday rotation, weekend and on-call requirements apply. This unit specializes in newborn assessment and antepartum patient services.

The essential functions include assessing patients, planning and delivering care, documenting responses, and collaborating with the health care team to ensure high-quality outcomes for mothers and babies.

Qualifications

• Eligible for or currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in Maryland or compact state.
• Associates degree in Nursing required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred or willing to obtain within 5 years of employment.
• BLS certification is required.
• NRP certification required upon hire or within 90 days of employment.
• C-EFM certification required upon hire or within 1 year of employment.

Responsibilities

• Assesses biophysical, psychosocial, environmental, self-care, educational and discharge planning of patients according to nursing standards.
• Produces initial assessments and reassessments per organizational standards and policy.
• Communicates patient status and care plans concisely to the health care team.
• Develops and updates individualized care plans using nursing diagnoses.
• Guides and mentors junior staff and participates in department orientation.
