Job summary

Pine Street Inn in Boston seeks a Guest Services Specialist to support a safe shelter environment and directly care for guests during night hours. You will help motivate guests toward housing options, connect them to recovery, mental health, and medical resources, and document activities in HMIS, while staying energized under demanding conditions.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• Bilingual English/Spanish.
• Valid MA driver's license in good standing.
• Minimum of one (1) year of experience in the Human Services field.
• Administering Narcan and CPR in a work setting.
• Knowledge in the areas of addiction, recovery, and mental illness.
• Knowledge of issues pertaining to the homeless.
• Knowledge of area resources.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care to guests in a safe shelter environment.
• Respond to guests' needs promptly based on priority.
• Assist with housing pathway development and connect to resources.
• Enter data into HMIS system and document reports per policy.
• Make sound decisions and seek supervisor guidance when needed.
