Job summary

Pine Street Inn in Boston is seeking a Guest Services Specialist to maintain a safe shelter environment and provide direct care to guests, responding promptly to their needs.

You will motivate guests to pursue housing and help connect them with housing resources and essential services, while maintaining HMIS data and shelter documentation per policy. Supervisory guidance will support decision-making.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• Preferred: MA driver’s license in good standing.
• Preferred: bilingual English/Spanish.
• Required: minimum one year in Human Services.
• Preferred: Narcan CPR experience; knowledge of addiction, recovery, and homelessness resources.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care to shelter guests and respond to urgent needs in a timely, professional manner.
• Assist with housing pathway development and connect guests to appropriate resources to accelerate housing placement.
• Enter data into the HMIS system and document reports in accordance with agency policy.
• Make sound decisions and seek guidance from a supervisor when needed.
