Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver's license required.
• IAHSS Basic, Advanced and Supervisor exams completed within specified timelines.
• Current Basic Life Support Certification (AHA) within 9 months of hire.
• Defensive Tactics in Healthcare training within 180 days of hire.
• Strong interpersonal and written communication skills.
• Ability to operate a motor vehicle as needed.

Responsibilities

• Communicates with shift leadership regarding security needs.
• Disseminates information to assigned security team members.
• Identify opportunities for safety improvements on shift and take action.
• Oversee safety monitoring and ensure NM policies compliance.
• Oversee campus Video Management and Access Control systems.
• Maintain knowledge of industry standards and trends in healthcare safety.
• Complete shift records, reports and handoffs.
• Collaborate with support services to maintain a safe environment.
• Lead and support the shift team, fostering cohesiveness.
• Prioritize deployment of security resources to protect patients and staff.
• Lead investigations of incidents as needed.
• Mentor new security staff with orientation and training.
