Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Security Supervisor I to oversee a night shift (7:00 p.m. – 7:30 a.m., 12-hour shifts, 3 days a week) at a Northwestern Medicine site.

The role ensures safety, conducts investigations, and coordinates with security leadership to enforce NM policies while maintaining high standards of patient and staff safety. Responsibilities include supervising the security team, ensuring proper reporting, and maintaining access control and video systems.

Qualifications

• High-school diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• IAHSS Basic, Advanced and Supervisor exams to be completed within specified timeframes.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification within 9 months of hire.
• Northwestern Medicine Defensive Tactics in Healthcare within 180 days of hire.
• Strong interpersonal and written communication abilities.
• Physical ability to operate a vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily security operations on the assigned night shift.
• Communicate with other shift leaders about security needs.
• Disseminate information to security team members on shift.
• Identify safety/security improvement opportunities and take action.
• Oversee campus Video Management and Access Control systems.
