Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Security Officer II in McHenry, IL for nights. You will lead the security shift in the absence of the Supervisor, coordinate with site leadership, and ensure safe operations across NM facilities.

This role requires IAHSS Basic/Advanced certifications, BLS, and a driver’s license, with a focus on patient and staff safety. You will also train new officers, monitor cameras and access control systems, and help implement security policies while maintaining strong

Qualifications

• Requires a high-school diploma or GED.
• Valid driver’s license.
• IAHSS Basic and Advanced certifications.
• Current Basic Life Support Certification through American Heart Association within 9 months of hire.
• Successful completion of Northwestern Medicine Defensive Tactics in Healthcare within 6 months of hire.
• 6 months minimum, 1 year preferred experience working within NMHC Security Services.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the shift leader in the absence of the Security Supervisor.
• Communicate regularly with Security Supervisor, Program Manager, and other site leadership regarding Security needs.
• Disseminate information to assigned/scheduled Officers.
• Identify opportunities for improvement regarding safety and security issues on their shift.
• Oversee safety/security monitoring and access control systems; assess security risks within NM campuses.
• Build and maintain team cohesiveness on their shift; deploy and utilize security resources.
• Lead investigations of incidents as needed; assist with orientation and training of new staff.
