Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is hiring a Security Supervisor I for the night shift. The role provides operational oversight across campus security systems, leads a team, ensures compliance with NM policies, and coordinates with other services to maintain a safe environment for patients and staff.

The position requires a high-school diploma, a valid driver’s license, and multiple IAHSS certifications, along with ongoing training and leadership responsibilities.

Qualifications

• High-school diploma or GED
• Valid driver’s license
• IAHSS Basic, Advanced and Supervisor certifications
• Current BLS certification with 9 months of hire
• Defensive Tactics certification within 180 days

Responsibilities

• Communicates with shift leadership about security needs
• Disseminates information to Security team members
• Identify opportunities for safety improvements on shift
• Support NM policies and safety monitoring
• Oversee campus Video Management and Access Control systems
• Maintain knowledge of industry standards and trends
• Complete shift records and reports
• Collaborate with support services to maintain safe environments
• Build team cohesiveness on shift
• Prioritize deployment of security resources for patient safety
• Lead investigations of incidents as needed
• Mentor new security staff and provide training
• Serve as reference for shift associates
