Job summary

Catholic Charities Eastern Washington is seeking a Safety & Operations Associate to oversee daily safety, emergency response and community engagement for Catalyst staff and participants at our Spokane facilities.

The role requires delivering protocol-driven, compassionate services with strong verbal communication skills and trauma-informed practices. Candidates should demonstrate leadership, safety management, and collaboration across departments to support clients and the community.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in social services or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years’ experience in de-escalation training implementation, Motivational Interviewing, Safe Crisis Management, Mental Health First Aid or equivalent.
• Demonstrated leadership, management, safety and protection skills are mandatory.
• Ability to compassionately interact with the mentally ill, substance abusers and homeless people is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day coordination with other departments to alleviate safety concerns within the facility and vicinity.
• Create welcoming, supportive environment for participants and visitors with a strengths-based approach.
• Maintain safety and security protocols by monitoring general access areas.
• Offer referrals and resources to shelter and community-based services using Trauma Informed Approach and Motivational Interviewing.
