Job summary

Catholic Community Services (CCS) is seeking a Safety Coordinator for the Basic Needs – Salt Lake campus. The role focuses on safety, crisis intervention, and de-escalation, using a trauma-informed approach and CCS Safety Academy credentials.

You will respond to emergencies, document incidents, and support staff and clients while coordinating with on-site teams. The Safety Coordinator serves as the primary safety responder on shift, ensuring secure facilities and compliance with program

Qualifications

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills required.
• Ability to remain calm in stressful situations.
• Experience in security, behavioral health, or crisis response is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct facility patrols and monitor entrances and client areas for safety risks.
• Respond to safety concerns, enforce rules, and investigate incidents.
• Assess conflicts and use CPI de-escalation techniques to intervene.
• Provide crisis support and apply Mental Health First Aid and QPR practices.
• Determine when to engage law enforcement, EMS, or crisis services; coordinate on-scene response.
• Administer emergency medical response per Safety Academy certifications.
• Produce incident documentation meeting compliance standards.
