Job summary

Colorado Coalition for the Homeless is seeking a Safety Associate I to help maintain a safe environment across its Colorado locations. You will focus on de-escalation, crisis prevention, and applying trauma-informed approaches to support staff, clients, and visitors.

This role emphasizes collaboration with law enforcement and emergency personnel, timely reporting, and ongoing de-escalation training. A high school diploma and CPR/First Aid certification are required, with bilingual abilities

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• CPR/First Aid certification within 30 days of employment.
• Bi-lingual English-Spanish and/or ASL preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular inspections of assigned sites to ensure a safe environment.
• Assist staff in assessing potentially dangerous situations and intervene as necessary to prevent escalation.
• Escort employees as needed to promote staff safety.
• Monitor and ensure compliance with safety procedures and visitor policies
• Provide crisis intervention support, focusing on verbal and physical de-escalation methodologies, while adhering to trauma-informed principles.
• Collaborate with law enforcement agencies and emergency healthcare personnel as needed.
• Document and submit reports on all incidents involving physical intervention or security concerns.
• Participate in and apply knowledge from ongoing safety and de-escalation training.
• Ensure timely & accurate use of all company systems as required while maintaining complete up-to-date records and any future upgrades as directed.
• Foster and maintain an inclusive and respectful work environment that promotes a team-oriented work environment.
• Utilize advanced verbal de-escalation skills in addition to CCH Non-Violent Crisis Intervention methods.
• Perform additional duties as assigned
